Matty Mo might possibly the hardest working shredder in Govey right now. A true case of makin a huge batch of the dopest lemon aide around out of some pretty rotten lemons. Matty has been shredding HCSC for few years now and has become one of the regular faces you’d expect to see on the daily while in Hood. He has spent a little over a year riding for the LEVITATION PROJECT and from the get-go it has been nothing but awesome having him around from his riding,humor,wit and just his sweet outlook on life…..he is a true homie through and through.

I remember asking him once why his truck didn’t have a license plate on it? He replied ” just because everyone else has that shit doesn’t mean I need it, Im down just to roll real mellow like”  enough said.

It has been hard to keep up with Matty during the daytime because of his schedule at COBRA DOGS but we have totally made up for it over a couple thousand beers at night. When he’s done slangin dogs to the campers he heads down to the RATT and DJ’S what seems like every night of the week. So we figured since we need to know whats going on with this dude maybe you should find out too….here is a little Q/A session

YOU HAVE A NEW JOB AT CAMP….WHAT’S IT LIKE WORKING AT COBRA DOGS? IS IT BETTER THAN WORKING IN THE KITCHEN?

Forget about it.  Don’t get me wrong, i loved working in the K-Unit, big shout out to all the Unit hommies, but Cobra Dogs is quite possibly the best job in Govy!

WHAT IS COBRA DOGS? WHATS THE HISTORY BEHIND IT AND ARE THEY GOOD FOR YOU? WILL A COBRA DOG A DAY KEEP THE DOCTOR AWAY?

Shit, the history is like 6 years ago Mr. Weinerman (Corey Grove) said screw the snowboard photography industry and open up the most gourmet hot dog stand the world has ever experienced!  All the products are all natural and are produced locally. I crank a 7 hour shift every day HCSC is in session, and average like 2 a day and i feel great!  I do believe that a Cobra Dog (with a Volcano Cone for desert) a day will indeed keep the doc away.  If you’ve never tried a Cobra Dogs, you are seriously blowing it!  I have witnessed dozens of first time dog eaters, trip the fuck out!  Seriously ordering a second dog after their first bite! I fully back em!  There was one camper who ate 4 a day everyday for a week straight!  Big shoutout to all the rad campers i serve.  Thanks for all the tips hommies!

HOW DID YOUR WINTER GO? WHAT WHERE THE HIGHLIGHTS? 

Good season for sure!  Could have done without as many bullshit injuries, but it was awesome getting to travel to some dope spots.  I would say the highlights were both the Chicago trip with you guys, and the trip back home to New York with the SnowRev.com hommies.  Cant wait for this season, to film a full part.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A DJ? YOU HAVE A PRETTY WIDE SCOPE OF MUSIC…WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE SHIT TO PLAY? Been DJing for like 8 years, more  or less.  My first few turntable setups were pretty ghetto.  But I’ve been getting after it pretty hard the last few years.  Pretty sick to be able to make a living off of playing tunes for drunk people.  I feel like if you’re gonna DJ you gotta be down with a pretty wide variety of music.  I grew up in NY, so hip-hop is what got me into DJing in the first place.  I love all that 90s east coast ill shit.  Wu-tang 36 chambers was my first album purchased. Notorious B.I.G. ready to die was the second.  That being said, I have broadened my listening tastes quite a bit.  I love classic rock, metal, jazz, funk, soul, even some of that electronic shit…. pretty much anything but country and polka.  I would say my favorite shit to play would a dirty south mix, heavy on the Young Jeezy.

YOU HAVE A NEW BOARD SPONSOR WHAT’S OMATIC ALL ABOUT? IS IT CRAZY TO HAVE TODD RICHARDS AS OUR TM? HOW MANY TM’S HAVE OLYMPIC MEDALS? IS THE HE THE ONLY ONE?

Yeah Todd is the man.  Haven’t gotten to shred with him much, but having a legend as a TM is pretty awesome.  Watching him in the first Olympics, before i even knew how to snowboard, and knowing that he won just about every contest back in the day is pretty rad.  The fact that he is still destroying it to this day is nothing short of amazing!

TELL US WHAT YOUR DAY TO DAY SCHEDULE IS LIKE?

  Dude, seriously this is the hardest I’ve ever been on the grind before in my life.  A pretty standard day for me would be get up at 9, shred till 2:30, hitchhike back down to Govy, go to work at Cobra Dogs from 3 to 10.  Then cop a quick shower and DJ a dance party at the Ratskeller from 10:30 to 2:30.

WHAT DOES HIGH CASCADE MEAN TO YOU?

Simply put, the world.  Working there the last few years has been a dream come true.  To be able to shred with, and become hommies with all the fucking rad people that work at camp is a dream come true!
