So we finally got off our asses and made the trip to HOOD. It took a few weeks longer than we wanted but there is a lot that goes into managing a company and it’s not always on the snow. Luckily we got out of Utah before the heat knob got cranked to SCORCH YOUR NUTS and thinking about snow is not an option when its that FUCKING HOT!!!!! This summer we have a large number of team riders that are shredding/working at the camps and we are going to post up for the next 5 weeks and document LIFE IN THE HOOD. Keep checking back because our days of slacking on our updates are OVER.

It’s always good to see the slush filled Volcano and know that you’ll be shredding all summer.

Chris Beresford has been spending the past few summers at hood and this invert is proof that it has been time well spent.

 So your sitting at home sweating your ass off and summer is kicking into full gear and all your doing is complaining about how far away the winter is maybe you should make the trip up to Mt Hood. If the simple fact that you can shred on the first of July isn’t enough how about a TOW ROPE that keeps you from hiking so now you can just run laps all day long at HCSC. TIM RONAN is stoked that he didn’t have to hike all day and was able to get his CRIPPLERS on lock.

AUSTEN GRRANGER has become a summer local at HCSC and if he isn’t digging,sleeping or drinking odds are he’s probably bagging shots in the park.

Last summer Chris Brewster came up to camp and forgot to put on sunscreen and was on his way home within 24 hours looking like FREDDY KRUEGER. It’s one year later and the kid is down for sunscreen and his riding is the only thing that’s on fire now. 

AUSTEN and TIM are most likely talking about how they totally kick ass and their summer is kicking your summers ass.

DIGGERS pay their dues by getting up at the ass crack of dawn to start digging in the park for hours before anyone shows up…..Its a dirty job but someone has to do it. Next time you ride the pipe are hit a jump think about who was there hours before you showed up to make sure the lips were perfectly raked. These guys work FUCKING HARD to make sure the park is fine tuned and ready to shred every day.

It wouldn’t be a summer at Hood without seeing MEG PUGH hiking either HCSC or WINDELL’S pipe. 

Girls pay attention because this is what a frontside air in the pipe should look like. Meg Pugh has dedicated her life to shredding and no matter what obstacles get thrown her way she always has her priorities straight and shredding always comes first in her life. She is dedicated as hell and a true shredder through and through. 

COREY MAC is the man that makes it all happen and is the head DIGGER. This guy eats, breathes and sleeps all things shredding and is always stoked. FUCK YEAH COREY!!!

When Chris Beresford isn’t showing everyone what  the definition of style is he’s busy hustling his shades to campers and shredders. Check out DANG shades. CHRIS BREWSTER almost made the fatal decision of working a shit job in AK this summer instead of DIGGING at HCSC.

MATTY MO is another fixture of the summer shred scene and he was tearing it up the first night we rolled into town. Not only can this dude lay down some beats he can slay shit on his board. Stay tuned to see more of Matty tearing it up on and off the snow. LONG LIVE THE KING OF POP

It is crazy that this was the closing weekend for BRIGHTON because the resort is still covered in snow. In the past 24 days the COTTONWOOD CANYONS were hit with just around 200 inches…..that’s 16 feet!!!! The natural terrain is as good as if it was the dead of winter and the park is still one of the most fun cruising parks around. There is really no better way to close it down for the season than laps in the park, burgers, tons of NATURAL LIGHT and BIKINIS. Lift tickets for Saturday were 29.00 if you dressed in beach attire. This deal made from some awesome people watching!!! Pretty sure that a lot of people got one hell of a sun burn yesterday. 

 Levitation team rider AUSTEN GRANGER and our hommie B spent the day lapping the park and chilling at the BIKINI contest. AUSTEN has had a crazy schedule for the past few weeks traveling with the SIGNAL team and was only in town for the day but still found time to make it up to BRIGHTON for one last session.

THE DUDES

After a long winter of shredding sometimes you have to switch it up a little. For AUSTEN and B switching it up meant taking some SNOW BIKES from a demo tent and sending it down the runs. This made the day a whole lot more entertaining. With in seconds AUSTEN and B were bombing down runs and their were a couple of violent wrecks that went down.

Having never been on a snow bike until 5 minutes ago AUSTEN was ripping!! It’s seriously ok to LAUGH….we were rolling!!

This was about 1 minute before B went down hard. Don’t worry the safety leash is attached to your wrist so the bike doesn’t go very far…..WTF?

If it was a style contest on the SNOW BIKES…. AUSTEN might of won.

B is no stranger to riding slush and parks after years of shredding in SO-CAL. He made the move out to Utah this year and we are pretty sure he’s staying. He had some smooth ROCK to FAKIE’s on the wall 

AND YES…..There was a BIKINI contest. It was a little scary in the crowd of people and we will spare you some shots of girls that SHOULD NOT be in BIKINIS but the girls in the actual contest were keeping all the drunk dudes in the crowd pretty stoked.

The contest was heavily sponsored by NATURAL LIGHT so all the BABES were chugging beer on the snowy runway. Pretty cool to see chicks in bikinis while your shredding and they are getting HAMMERED

 So a lot of people are always asking…. are we a clothing company? What do we make? Do we sale clothing? The answer to all of those questions is YES. We are currently manufacturing all of our products in Peru. We have spent the past year working with our factories and working in our factories. It was important right off the bat to inspect all factories and know exactly who we were working with and the quality of the operations that we were working with. We assure you that our factories are 100% legit and have a pleasant and safe work environment for all of their employees…This was one of the most important things for us to know that we were employing people that were on the up and up and not using “sweat shop” style factories that you always hear horror stories about. 

 One of the greatest aspects of our clothing line is being able to START GREEN as opposed to GOING GREEN. We are proud to offer a full base layer line made from RECYCLED PLASTIC BOTTLES and Discarded COCONUT shells. The combination of the two is one of the most functional materials and most comfortable materials that you will find in any base layer line.

 The Levitation Project is a movement that has taken on a life of its own over the past 3 years and one of the most important factors in how closely we work with our team and staff and how closely our team works with our designers. We recently just got back from a trip to our factories in Peru in which team rider Bode Merrill and lead designer Shanna Duncan teamed up to pick out materials,fabrics,textiles and get the ball rolling on 2010′s new line. Here are few pics of the two of them working in our factory and seeing what exactly goes into transforming garbage from the streets into one of the best base layers around.

 A important thing to know is that when you purchase one of our base layer pieces is that each base layer top or bottom is made from 80-100 plastic bottles. So not only is our gear bad ass……. it is also cleaning up the earth.

This is a sneak peak of next years line….well at least what it starts off looking like.

This is close to 200 bottles that have been melted down and are then turned into thousands of little pieces that are then transformed into a fiber.
