One of the best views in Big cottonwood and even better when it is on OPENING DAY!!!! Opening day of a resort  fires up the same feelings of being a kid on Christmas day. Knowing that the season is on and every day is gonna be another one for the books shredding with your friends….HELL YES!!!  WINTER IS HERE!!!!

The Majestic chair is running and tickets are only 30.00. Above and beyond it being opening day not too many kids rolled up to shred….so its even better when you have the place left for you and your homies to tear it up.

The park crew have been putting in some hours to start getting the mountain into shape and you can guarantee that there will be more and more features popping up every day. Ted is down for anything to shred and PICKING his way down the run.

Chris Brewster back for another year. After moving here from AK one season he has been putting in some serious work and has glued himself into the SLC scene.  Chris will be filming with THINK THANK this year and you can expect good things. Damn Methods are sweet!!

Parker Duke is another starving transplant that is ready to send it. This is Parker’s first season in Utah and he is ready to take full advantage of what Brighton and the Wasatch have to offer.

We have not had a chance to give a proper welcome to ANDREW MILLER  he is another awesome addition to our 2009/2010 staff. ANDREW is more than qualified behind the lens and we are hyped to have him shooting for us. He signed on last night and was shooting the team in less than 24 hours later! This homie is motivated!!! Mark Dangler is the newest addition to our staff and we are stoked as hell!!! Adding another filmer to the crew was a no brainer for this upcoming winter and Dangler was  first on our list.  With Dangler’s skills behind the lens and laptop you can expect  more footage and more edits all winter long. He is a hard worker with his own style of filming and editing that will only enhance our media program. What more could we ask for?

The gathering for a couple hammer flicks. The night opened up with HARD TO EARN which is by far the best t9 movie to date. The crowd was in full effect with a mega who’s who of the shred industry. The t9 film totally set the pace for the night.

Lucky enough the theater had a bar right next store so this was what  our quick intermission looked like.

Back in time for VIDEOGRASS…..which by the way is a HAMMER’S HAMMER. JUSTIN MEYER killed it with this film. This one gets added to the library for sure. Don’t FUCK AROUND and go buy this shit!!!!  LNP,JAKE OLSEN ELM, JUSTIN BENNE,BEN BILOCQ and so many more dudes but take it from us this film rips start to finish and you have to own this one.

Since we could hear the whole theater cracking cans and this seemed like a pretty loose environment we decided to step it up a bit.

Fresh from PRAGUE a bottle of the GREEN FAIRY….ABSINTHE!!!! Just like the film company this shit doesn’t fuck around. Right from the first sip you know your about to get on one gnarly ride. AUSTEN GRANGER was up for the adventure.

Lucky enough there is a small delay with this shit and we didn’t start getting really loose for a another half hour which gave us plenty of time to bro down with all the industry homies. Everyone chilled out front of the theater for a little bit before the main event started.

The crazy green liquid flowing through our veins needed to be neutalized by some other booze….or at least we thought this would help.

The night only got rougher and this is about where the photos quit making sense. We ended up brawling with some crack heads out in front of the bar and had a brief run in with San Diego’s finest but everyone made it home in one piece. This is how a video premier should go down. Amazing shredding, tons of partying, chillin with homies, couple punches to the face of some tweekers and the cops letting you go for the night….FUCK YEAH!!!!!

PHIL DAMAINAKES shows just how good the pow and cliffs are at BRIGHTON

BRIGHTON is one of the sickest mountains in the world. If you have never been there and this is your first season in Utah…save yourself tons of wasted days trying to find the right spot. If you want to ride park and powder there is no better combo in the Wasatch. A lot of resorts have all Powder or all park but this place has the best combo of both. You can run laps through their park or hike and get some of the best backcountry runs UTAH has to offer.

The Park at Brighton is long and full of creative features that will keep you stoked all day and night. You can also night ride and still hit the park. Basically with your pass you can put in some long days….12 hours if you can hang. Or just show up late and stay late.

CHRIS BREWSTER is psyched on the park…..almost too psyched sometimes.

Heres a little secret….If you like to get up early your stoked the Brighton crowd is a little slow to get up to the hill.

This is just how sick a deep day looks after a huge nuking storm rolls over BRIGHTON….JDUBS getting into a WASATCH barrel.

Once the landings start to fill in you can TEE OFF on just about anything…….BODE sends a massive 1/2 cab over in Marrys.

Even while the snow is falling Austen Granger is still down for some park runs. There is a good mix of dudes that are down for the park and for the backcountry so things don’t ever get too crowded.

LEVITATION PROJECT team riders AUSTEN GRANGER, CHRIS BREWSTER, PARKER DUKE and TED BORLAND were all diggers at HCSC this summer. They had one hell of a summer and hall have some good stories. Heres what we got out them when we asked  WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A DIGGER?

AUSTEN GRANGER

” Being a DIGGER  means that you have a dream job and you get to snowboard all summer. You get to build what ever you want and however you want in the park. You get to yell at a lot of people and kick poachers out of the park. You are the first ones on the hill and the last ones off. You get to hang out with the best people all day. You get to watch everything that goes on in the park. Being a digger is the BEST JOB IN THE WORLD….HANDS DOWN!!!!

Digging this summer was a good choice for BREWSTER. He is as hungry as they come and ready to get it done this winter. After a summer of digging you can expect big things from this kid.

You know it’s a sign when you see  the symbol of FREEDOM soaring majestically. After seeing the EAGLE today we knew it was time to move on. So after 40 days of shredding the VOLCANO and HCSC’s park we have decided to call it a summer with today being our last day on hill. This was one of the most epic summers in years and it totally helped the summer depression. We only have a few short months until the snow flies and it’s time to start sending it. Remember this is not some unobtainable dream. If your a kid….explain to your parents that this is a small price to pay to keep your sanity and if your over 18 there are jobs to start applying for in camp or just come up and work in town and ride the public parks….You too can have a sweet summer of shredding.

When we first rolled up to the digger station it was hard not to notice the pond/pool/irrigation system that the homies had put some serious time into. AUSTEN GRANGER was getting just as tech with this thing as he does with his jump/jib building. Here you can see him pulling out a tasty beverage from his glacier run off cooler.

Nothing like dunking your head in ice cold glacier water to keep it chill on a hot day.

This is way better than getting a bill for you air conditioning……..shits free!!!!

Being labeled the EAST COAST POWERHOUSE can take its toll on you so obviously AUSTEN GRANGER was taking a day off today but he did make sure all the diggers were well fed. Once he cooled off in his pond he hopped up and took charge of the grill. Good looking out man.

After slaving away at lunch it was time for a nap….the ECPH was tuckered out. How selfless can you be? Making sure that everyone has a cooler to dunk their head and sodas in and then cooking lunch. Thats a good homie right there….Thank you for being the best AUSTEN GRANGER you can be!!!!!!!

This would discourage a lot of people that are not really passionate about slashing it up but as long as there is still snow you can still shred.

PARKER DUKE was dow for a session or so with a injured knee so there was no time to make mud pies and ponds for this kid. He was still hyped on getting some shots. He got a back lip through the kink with a back 2-7 out today. It took a few tries and a few slams but he got it.

It takes some commitment to get moves on lock and sometimes you pay the price but the reward is well worth it and Parker is 100% dedicated to paying the price some times.

We went ahead and did PARKER a favor and cleaned up the base of his board for him. Thats what friends are for.

TED SHRED BUNDY BORLAND still couldn’t get enough of that Barret Christy board and the mini stance shred. He might not make it back and might be riding boards like this forever……or maybe after a few months its worth giving all the bros a good laugh.

Here is that good laugh we were talking about…..Fuck yeah Ted!!!

So long and good bye!!!!! thanks for checking in every day and checking out our endless summer….well it was almost endless. There is still some snow up here so if you can try to make it up to Oregon the camps are still going and the Public parks are still shredable.
