You know it’s a sign when you see  the symbol of FREEDOM soaring majestically. After seeing the EAGLE today we knew it was time to move on. So after 40 days of shredding the VOLCANO and HCSC’s park we have decided to call it a summer with today being our last day on hill. This was one of the most epic summers in years and it totally helped the summer depression. We only have a few short months until the snow flies and it’s time to start sending it. Remember this is not some unobtainable dream. If your a kid….explain to your parents that this is a small price to pay to keep your sanity and if your over 18 there are jobs to start applying for in camp or just come up and work in town and ride the public parks….You too can have a sweet summer of shredding.

When we first rolled up to the digger station it was hard not to notice the pond/pool/irrigation system that the homies had put some serious time into. AUSTEN GRANGER was getting just as tech with this thing as he does with his jump/jib building. Here you can see him pulling out a tasty beverage from his glacier run off cooler.

Nothing like dunking your head in ice cold glacier water to keep it chill on a hot day.

This is way better than getting a bill for you air conditioning……..shits free!!!!

Being labeled the EAST COAST POWERHOUSE can take its toll on you so obviously AUSTEN GRANGER was taking a day off today but he did make sure all the diggers were well fed. Once he cooled off in his pond he hopped up and took charge of the grill. Good looking out man.

After slaving away at lunch it was time for a nap….the ECPH was tuckered out. How selfless can you be? Making sure that everyone has a cooler to dunk their head and sodas in and then cooking lunch. Thats a good homie right there….Thank you for being the best AUSTEN GRANGER you can be!!!!!!!

This would discourage a lot of people that are not really passionate about slashing it up but as long as there is still snow you can still shred.

PARKER DUKE was dow for a session or so with a injured knee so there was no time to make mud pies and ponds for this kid. He was still hyped on getting some shots. He got a back lip through the kink with a back 2-7 out today. It took a few tries and a few slams but he got it.

It takes some commitment to get moves on lock and sometimes you pay the price but the reward is well worth it and Parker is 100% dedicated to paying the price some times.

We went ahead and did PARKER a favor and cleaned up the base of his board for him. Thats what friends are for.

TED SHRED BUNDY BORLAND still couldn’t get enough of that Barret Christy board and the mini stance shred. He might not make it back and might be riding boards like this forever……or maybe after a few months its worth giving all the bros a good laugh.

Here is that good laugh we were talking about…..Fuck yeah Ted!!!

So long and good bye!!!!! thanks for checking in every day and checking out our endless summer….well it was almost endless. There is still some snow up here so if you can try to make it up to Oregon the camps are still going and the Public parks are still shredable. Its time for us to start working and getting our team dialed in for this up and coming winter. Stay tuned for new products,new site,new vids, new stories, new travels and  all things shred.

Today the DIGGERS decided to shred on the tightest stances they could come up with. A few of the homies rode little kid boards and chick boards just to make sure they could get the smallest stances rollin. It was TED BORLAND’s birthday today and he was fucking shit up with this little ass kit….not to mention his stoney FAST TIMES kit. 

BODE MERRILL was taking some new lines through the park today and using the side of the landing to the jump as a hip. It’s always good this late in the year to be able to switch things up come up with some new shit. He was blasting some poppy CAB 5′S.

Just a little reminder that the new Absinthe movie is coming out and this dude is going to have a hammer part. Check the new Absinthe site and make sure you clear your schedule to make the premier.

Its crazy to think a year ago at HCSC you had to hike all day to session anything and now days you can just spin laps through the park using the big TOE ROPE. BODE and CHRIS BREWSTER were sessioning the hip jump and were literally back up to hit it in just a few minutes.

BREWSTER was running the tight stance today and was still able to blast some sweet methods off this hip line.

How about those shades? Well if you want to help support CHRIS BERESFORD’S new sunglass company go buy some and you can look that awesome too. All you have to do is go to DANG SHADES and get out your credit card and BAM!!!!….your there.

Right after you open up that box and put those DANG SHADES on you’ll be throwin down inverts in no time. CHRIS BERSFORD was ok at shredding but now that he has those DANG SHADES…..its over man……the guy is tearing it up every day!!!!

a 16 inch stance is not going to keep EAST COAST POWERHOUSE AUSTEN GRANGER from getting some hang time in the mini pipe. This photo would of been worth something in 1992 but today its just funny. The homies really were slashing it up with the smallest possible stances.

PARKER DUKE was down for skinny stance Sundays. Just coming off a knee injury this kid was stoked to be back on his board.

The snow is melting but that isn’t stopping Chris Beresford from making the best of it. As long as his board will slide he can still ride.

Today was another scorcher on the VOLCANO but at least GARY BUSEY is backing this FS 9 melon of Bode’s….don’t ask. The heat is still not enough to mess with a completely awesome day at HCSC. 

THE BODE MAN was chopping it up as always. throwin down some legit moves is all this homie knows and this is SB7 is as good as it gets. 

Back 7 tails are cool on hot ass day. Bode was keeping it real cool all day long.

Even in the hottest weather of the summer you can still shred if your in MT HOOD. HCSC still has a lot to offer for the summer shred. BODE MERRILL taking full advantage of the NARWHAL with this backflip to fakie. There really is no better way to spend a hot July day.

PARKER DUKE getting the midday rake. This time of year the snow requires a lot more work than the earlier part of summer. The heat was out in full force so the DIGGERS had a lot more work to do than normal to make sure the park stayed shredable.

It was so hot that AUSTEN didn’t even need to turn on the propane for his lunch.

The NARWHAL was a poplar feature to hit today. AUSTEN GRANGER  steezin with a fresh delmar.

The HIGHLIGHT of the day was totally BODE’S MCTWIST off the WALL. After just having knee surgery at the beginning of the summer it looks like his ORTHO doc was able to work some magic and put Bode back together again. 

All things must come to an end and having to walk down to the parking lot is a sign that there are only a few weeks left before all the snow is gone. So if you haven’t made it up to HOOD and are thinking about it now is the time to get up here.
